Adventures in Stakeholder Engagement
I have decided to take the plunge and start writing a blog to explain my work in stakeholder engagement and insights and describe a bit more about the services I offer and how I can help organisations - large and small, public and non-profit - to work more closely with the people who use their services. I will also be commenting on current issues and how they might be impacting co-production and community collaboration. For example, there is lots of discussion and debate at the moment around the social economy - so how can we relate that to working with local communities and those with lived experience? So my aim is really to start a conversation with other interested people to see where it might take us.
But why should you listen to what I have to say?
I have over 30 years experience of working in a strategic capacity on stakeholder engagement and insights for the public, private and third sectors. I have worked nationally and locally for health and care organisations, charities and non-profits. For much of this time I have been living and working in Bath and North East Somerset and the surrounding areas - so I have a lot of local knowledge too. Because of this I know what is needed in terms of planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating engagement and insight projects. I believe passionately in the importance of working collaboratively with those with lived experience, carers, staff and communities of location and interest to achieve mutual goals. I use my experience to help others with all their insight needs as I believe strongly in the power of working collectively to achieve service and community change.
Some of the blog topics I might cover could include: journey mapping; engaging with those offline; assessing impact; ethical issues and many more.
